The Prediction by Stat screen provides a detailed analysis of prediction outcomes for a selected statistic across all players. This screen is designed to offer deep insights into how each player performs relative to specific statistical metrics, accompanied by various interactive elements and visualizations.

Key Features

Predictions

This section displays a comprehensive table showing predictions for the selected statistic type across all players. The table includes information on the most important variable influencing the prediction model and identifies the most relevant player as determined by our relevance-based prediction model.

Fit

Alongside each prediction, you will see a “Fit” value. The Fit metric reveals how much confidence should be attributed to a specific prediction task, independent of the overall confidence in the prediction routine. It also allows for the evaluation of the relative quality of alternative calibrations for each prediction task. Generally, a higher fit value is more desirable, indicating greater confidence in the prediction accuracy.

Visualizations

• Prediction vs. Fit Chart: This chart visualizes the prediction results for the selected statistic across all players, plotted against their corresponding fit values. It provides a quick visual reference to assess the confidence and reliability of the predictions.

• Prediction Histogram: This histogram shows the distribution of the prediction values across all players, giving you an overview of how predictions are spread out for the chosen statistic.

Interactive Table Features

Just like in the Prediction Overview screen, the table on this screen is interactive. You can sort the data by clicking on column headers, search for specific players or metrics using the search boxes, and apply filters to focus on the most relevant data points.
