The Prediction Detail screen provides an in-depth analysis of a selected player’s performance for a specific statistic, offering a comprehensive view of all details and insights derived from the prediction model. This screen is designed to allow users to explore the intricate factors that contribute to each prediction.
Key Features
Player and Statistic Selection
Begin by selecting the player and the specific statistic you wish to analyze. Once selections are made, the screen will populate with detailed information related to the prediction.
Player Attributes and Variable Importance
The top table displays the selected player’s attributes or circumstances that were considered in the prediction model. It also highlights the relative importance of each variable, showing how significantly each factor contributed to the prediction. The importance is expressed as relative weights in a cross-sectional view.
Prediction Components
The bottom table provides detailed information on the variables involved in the prediction process. These can represent contextual factors that influenced the prediction outcome. It includes:
Prediction Weights
The weights assigned across different observations that were used to form the prediction, indicating the contribution of each observation to the final prediction result.
Prediction Target Variable
The main outcome that the prediction aims to estimate. In the screenshot above, we are showing APG. You can review other prediction target variables by selecting in the Stat dropdown control at the top of the screen.
Independent Variables
The key variables that influence the prediction outcome.
Search Functionality
The Prediction Detail screen is equipped with two search boxes that allow you to refine your analysis by selecting a specific player and statistic. These controls enable you to focus on the details that matter most by zooming in on the relevant data for a particular player and stat combination.
Player Selection
Use the Player Search Box to select the player you wish to analyze. As you begin typing the player’s name, the search box will provide autocomplete suggestions to help you quickly find the player. Once selected, the screen will update to display all the detailed prediction information related to that player.
Stat Selection
The Stat Search Box allows you to choose the specific statistic you want to examine. Similar to the player search, start typing the name of the statistic, and the search box will suggest relevant options. Selecting a statistic will update the screen to show the prediction details, variable importance, and other insights specific to that stat for the chosen player.
These search functionalities are designed to make it easy to navigate through the data, enabling you to quickly access and analyze the detailed predictions for any player-statistic combination.
